Taking their rather sucessfull CPS1 arcade game Area 88 and reinventing it in the Super Nintendo hardware, Capcom made more then a mere port, just like in Ghoul'n Ghosts. Regretfully loosing the simultaneous 2 player mode, this SNES offering offers a much more deep single player experience, with more planes, levels and giving the players the choice of wich mission to tackle. Renamed U.N. Squadron outside of Japan, It's amusing to see that the characters and names of the anime protagonists were left unchanged. Area 88 is my favorite fighter aircraft anime and altought I had played previously to having my SNES the Amiga version, this is the definitive version of the game for me. Level 1 with Shin Kazama on a F8E Crusader.
