Australian Racism (explicit lyrics)
***EXPLICIT LYRICS*** If 4 letter words starting with F and C offend, please don't watch this video. This is aimed at the blatant racism within parts of Australian society. Specifically, it's aimed at an email I've recieved quite a few times, which I put in print on here then respond to. These racists label their views as 'Aussie Pride' or 'Aussie Patriotism', when really, the people calling it this know bugger all about what our country stands for. They still believe the 'white australia' policy of the early 20th century is valid today, and think that everyone who comes to this country must act exactly like them. To wear different clothes, speak another language, or pray to a different god is unnacceptable. It also brings attention to the Cronulla riots in late '05, where two sides fought, without actually fighting each other. It was a low point in Australian history, a moment I compare to 'Kristallnacht'. Both of the tracks played over this video are by 'The Herd'. The first one is 'I was only 19', a cover of 'A walk in the light green' by Redgum. The song is about young australian soldeirs conscripted into the vietnam war. Another low point in Australian history (we have a few). The second song is called '77%', referring to the 77% of Australians that think that deterring illegal immigrants by force is perfectly okay. As the song says, if that is true, then 77% of Australians are racist. Personally, I think that most of that 77% are just ill informed. Anyway, enjoy, and feel free to comment
